Not Yet Rated how to edit songs in zune device (direclty) via the software

I looks like I can't do that. Did i do something wrong or this is how Zune works? Do I have to copy the songs to the library first -> edit them -> then re-sync back to the device? Do anybody knows if iPod will behave the same that I can't edit songs in iPod directly with iTunes? Thanks.

Basically you can only make edits to the data you see shown, Title, Artist Name, Album Name. Editing via the device, is non-existant. AFAIK the same does for iPod devices, but the sofware offers more options for editing. You can always navigate to the files on your computer and edit them via Windows Explorer.

Many tickets have been started requesting this feature. Furthermore the Zune software is limited in what you can edit as well. You are limited to editing Album Name, Artist Name, and Track Title. You must be in the respective panes to do so. For easier editing I suggest just navigating to your music in Windows Explorer and right clicking the files and editing the ID3 tags.
