I just bought my Zune tonight, and I am too lazy to type in all of my album information. When I try to retrieve the info or even connect to the internet on the software I get the "page cannot be displayed". Were you ever able to figure out the problem?

I finally figured this one out. I installed Windows Script 5.6 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en .
Another program was giving me an error and gave me a little more descriptive error message.

Nope, I never could get it to connect to the net. I just uninstalled it and canceled my Zune subscription. My home computer works with it fine.

Recently the Zune software stopped seeing the internet. It won't sign in and gives me the error that I need to connect. All my other software sees my internet connection fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Does anyone know what services the Zune software requires to be running? Is there some port it needs open that I may have blocked?

I have done all the normal checks like is my firewall blocking it, or the virus protection program, and uninstall/reinstall, etc.

Mine was not connecting either, and I finally figured it out!  I run McAffee firewall, and had windows firewall disabled (so I thought).  BUT when I opened windows firewall, it said it was on, even though the detail said it was active.  So, I made windows firewall active, added zune.exe to the exceptions list, then went back into windows firewall and disabled it.  So far this mysterious appears to be running/set to not run on the firewall hasn't caused any other problems, and I don't know why it's doing that, just glad I figured out how to connect to the internet again so I can get album info!

I have the same problem but though I added Zune to the exceptions list of Windows firewall and my actual firewall and virus software I still can't connect to the software.  I'm in Iraq and saw from the MS Zune site that others have had the same problem.  I'm using a personal sat. dish to connect to the internet.  I can pull down album data through Window's player but I can't connect with my Zune software even though both are MS products.  I have Hughsnet service and dish which the others who have problem also use.

MS shouldn't be selling their products in the military exchanges if they don't provide better support to military purchasers.  I refuse to buy Apple products so I'm in Iraq with a partially functioning Zune.  Help!
