Not Yet Rated Zune frozen on "loading" screen

Join Date: Dec 31, 2008 Post Count: 2   hollywood77 User Options View All Posts By hollywood77 View hollywood77's Stats     Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem!  We recently bought the Altec Lansing speaker dock for my zune, and it always sits on there.....I went to turn it on this morning when I woke up, and it was totally frozen with the logo on the screen and the loading bar across the bottom.  I tried plugging it into my computer to see if I needed to do any updates or anything, and my computer doesn't even see it.  I found several sites with reset instructions, where you push down different combinations of buttons, and nothing is working.  I'm pretty upset, since I just recenly spent $100 on my speaker dock, which will be useless if I can't get my zune working again!  I am guessing customer service is going to be getting slammed with phone calls, so I hope people will post back here if they manage to find anything out, since it will probably be hard to get through.

Join Date: Dec 31, 2008 Post Count: 3   pspiegel User Options View All Posts By pspiegel View pspiegel's Stats     Seems every 1st gen Zune on the planet has bricked.  I'm monitoring multiple forums but so far no solution from Microsoft.  Customer Service calls are holding 30 mins and more.  For now, I'm planning to let the power drain and then do nothing until Microsoft has a solution.  But I'm concerned because in the current state, there's no way to apply a firmware  patch/update to the device.  We'll see...

I had it plugged in to my computer charging and playing music so I could play diablo II without lag and it just reset and it's stuck on the loading screen. Letting it die dosent help, nothing helps. I hope this gets sorted out soon, all my band's music in on there!

I woke up this morning 5:15am 12/31/08 to find the exact same thing has happened to me. I have loaded multiple playlists for a big party tonight and this happend....I am soooooo...pissed! I have set up an alternative but will keep checking back to see if there is a fix that actually works!...Good Luck and Happy New Year!

Join Date: Oct 22, 2008 Post Count: 22   djglowell User Options View All Posts By djglowell View djglowell's Stats     I too have awoken this morning to find that my 30GB Zune, which was charging last night on the PC, is frozen with the loading screen present with full loading bar.  No response to any efforts to shut it off, down, or whatever.  What is the solution here?  I've never had any problems in a year's time.  Does this have something to do with my recent upgrade to the 3.0?

Join Date: Dec 31, 2008 Post Count: 1   95csurams03 User Options View All Posts By 95csurams03 View 95csurams03's Stats     My oldest daughter turned hers on this morning and noticed the same problem.  We have three 30 gb Zunes that we bought for the kids last Christmas ('07) and all of them are afflicted by the same issue.  Could it be the recent software update?  I don't know, but it's frustrating.  We were just using them yesterday!  I'll be interested to see what comes of this over the next few days.

Join Date: Dec 31, 2008 Post Count: 26   bifitzhenry User Options View All Posts By bifitzhenry View bifitzhenry's Stats     Yeah same here.  My Zune has been flawless for the year that i've had it but all of a sudden today its not working.  This sucks b/c my warranty just ran out a couple of days ago since i got my 30 gb Zune for christmas last year.  Idk if it has anything to do with the upgrade.

I really need my zune!
