So Ive had my zune for some time now, everything
was working fine. I was listening to it last night then the battery ran
out so I put it in my desk.
This morning I plug it to the computer expecting to see the
battery being charged symbol and the zune device in the zune
software(zune software = computer player, not the zune device firmware)
BUT that didnt happen.
I plugged it and it just goes to a black screen with the backlight turned on.
I tried pressing all the buttons/hold and nothing would happen so
held UP and the back button. It reset so I felt relieved, then I
started it again and same problem so I just left it until the battery
was drained(so the prob. isnt the battery cause even though there was
no display it was being charged).
Now I try plugging it and I finally see the battery symbol, then it
starts loading up the zune firmware or menu or w/e and i was really
relieved BUT again it pooped in my face and went into the black screen,
now it keeps doing that or just not starting at all(the battery is
still almost empty if not drained already).
I was told to do the following:
"shut it down completely,
then hold down back, left, and the center button. It should ask if you
want to completely format your zune. press yes and wait. then just plug
it into your computer and let it update."
Unfortunately it doesnt work.
Itll load the firmware or w/e and then crash. At first I thought it was
the screen but it showed the zune logo and its colors perfectly and the
white loading bar too.
I dont know what to do now. Is it possible to send it to Microsoft? If so how long will it take? How much will it cost?
Any advice?
Any way to hard reset it or something?
