Zune Reboot

Has anyone else had an issue where your zune reboots. It seemed to happen when I make sudden movements. For instance when I stand up or sit down. This has happened 3 times and not once did the device itself move. Is it possible a short in the headphones could cause this?

looks like I stumped Microsoft too. They didn't know what to do. They offered to send me replacement headphones but told me I would be better off and it ould be faster going back to bestbuy and replacing the whole unit. Excellent service.

I too am having the same problem. I have never dropped my Zune, and when my player started to reboot, I put the lock on. The device is in my jacket pocket and is not disturbed. Like yourself, the only thing that changes is maybe slight movements in the headphones, however I don't use the Zune headphones, but I have upgraded to a $99 pair of V-Moda headphones, and I seriously doubt there is a problem with them. Today it happened about 5 times within one hour, other times it has happened less frequently, and sometimes I have no problem at all. I am not able to return mine to the store because I got it as a Christmas gift and do not have the receipt. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just wanted to let everyone know that when I called zune tech support on the restarting issue. They told me that within a week a new firmware 1.3 will be released to help with this problem.When I asked what else will be in the update they told me that they didnt know,just told me to go to the zune website for more info.

I did find out that if I change the settings to always on for the backlight on my zune that this no longer happens, less battery life of course but it's better than shutting off all the time

I have the exact same problem, Several calls to zune support have not resolved the issue if anything it is worse than before i called. my zune will randomly shut off for minutes at a time and there is nothing to do but wait for it to restart. i've almost stopped using the thing because of this. Any Suggestions at all?

I just received mine a few days ago. i plugged it into the computer and it did the software update, etc. what I noticed is that mine is rebooting ONLY when I am playing my playlist. I use when i am walking and it is in my pocket so i have not dropped it. It rebooted when playing my playlist. But when i played an album instead of a playlist i recreated it was fine for an hour when i finished my walk today. Let me know if you are running issues with playlist. THX, TJ

hello from Mumbai...... got my 30GB zune less than a week ago..... other than the retarded looks liked everything else about it...... until yesterday
it started rebooting (3 / 4 times) in an hour today

noticed that this happened only when i was on the move... and i hv not dropped it or manhandled it - firmware is ver 2.3
