Sadly, I think the inconsistent reception is a downside of almost any FM transmitter....not the transmitter's fault, but as you drive, FM stations will come in and go out of range interferring with the transmitter's clarity. Try to find and FM frequency that consistently has no broadcast in the area you drive--if that's not possible, be happy you got a transmitter with autoseek...that should make adjusting to a new/clear FM freq less painful.

Yeah, I know. It comes with living in such a densely populated area.

I am working to find a solid station. I've got one that's close, but it's still getting interference. I knew we had a lot of garbage on the airwaves, but I didn't realize just how much until I got the transmitter. LOL

What are some of the other options that we have for quality FM transmitters? Are there any other transmitters made with the zune in mind?

good luck I bought the Zune FM tuner and returned it the next day (would've returned it sooner if I had lived closer to the store). I could only pick up on 2 stations and the quality was horrible. I think for my car cds/satelite radio will be the way to go until something better becomes available

Monster also makes a car pack that sells for a similar price, but I don't know if it's any better.

I'd like to get a new car stereo that includes a jack. But, I'd also like to get a new car in the next few years so I'm holding off on that.

I went back to a connection through the tape player. It works wonderfully--no more static. It cost me $5! I realize that the newer cars don't have tape players.
