Yes, I think most people know that, but marketing dictates that you appeal to the largest market share (ipod) users. Ipod uses a different technology (suprise) than virtually everybody else.

So the few people out there looking for those titles, many of whom may be parents whose kids have ipods, will see the compatability.

What compatibility issues? With CD's? No. With just about everything else? Yup. But avid Apple users don't care much. Most of them use Apple and nothing else.

Well, it's just like everything else out there. The Apple fans decide to be "different" than all of the more common PC users, yet, somehow, they are very much the same. You could also argue the same in reverse. Oh, well.

I know that we are in the MP3 age, when my step daughter's grandfather called me from the store as he was looking at music players for her birthday. He wanted to know if "she wanted an MP3 player or an iPod". I told him that they were kind of the same, but not to spend the ridiculous money on an iPod and just get her the 40 dollar player, which is just fine. He's kind of technophobic, and even he's shopping for MP3 players.

I was taking a look at the selections of language learning CD's at the store today and one of the boxes actually said 'iPod Compatible' and explained that you could load the CD's into your mp3 player.

All I could think was: don't most people with mp3 players know that????

I know. It just seemed so silly. I've already ripped all my language learning CD's onto my Zune and use them when I'm working outside. I would have laughed if anyone had come to me and asked if I knew I could do that.

I like different. It's a very comfortable place to be. I conform to non-conformism.
