Newby Questions - First Time Set-Up

I'm trying to set-up my 30 gb Zune for the first time. Here are the first of what I'm sure will be many questions.

1. How can I delete the pre-loaded music?

2. Can I set the display to only show the song title and artist (no album art)?

3. Can the Zune be set-up to work horizontally instead of vertically?

1) Delete pre-loaded music.

There are two ways. 1 is to do a hard reset and delete by pressing and holding the Back Button and the Up Button, when the units resets continue to hold the Back button, and all your content will be deleted.

Furthermore, you can simply go to the Zune software and go to Settings > Device > Erase Content this will also remove all the content on your Zune.

2) Can I set the display to show the song title and art, no album art?

I am not aware of an actual option for this anywhere in the software or on the hardware, but I know of a hack to accomplish this. Simply go through each of your albums folders and delete the album art. Then it won't sync to your Zune and display. Although I honestly can't imagine why you would want to do that. Feel free to share.

3) Zune is currently only enabled to work in landscape mode when viewing videos.

1) There are two ways to do this:

First -- Hard reset the Zune and delete on reboot. Hold the Back + Up buttons until the unit reboots. Then continue to hold the Back button. All content will be deleted.

Second -- Plug Zune into your computer, go to the Zune software and then Settings > Device > Erase Content

2) Album Art.
There is no setting to control this (AFAIK) but you can delete all the album art from all the Zune folders (not fun). If you do got this route you may want to disable Automatic update of album art by going to Settings > Software then under Options uncheck Automatically update album art and media information

3) Landscape only works for videos (for now).
