Just saw the post. Here is procedure I used.

Zune Boards

Microsoft seemed to blow it this time. They took away stuff that was really useful and replaced with stuff that was nice but not required.

I was frustrated because:

1) could not make automatic playlists anymore.
2) hated the new rating system. I have more variation in taste than like or dislike
3) wanted the 'tag' feature on the zune so that I could mark files that needed fixing
4) no tag editing. to change the genre required changing it one cut at a time.
5) I could not view my collection in as many ways as i was used to.
6) could not import playlists created my my mixer app.

Think about it though. I gave up the podcasts and the stability and the wireless (which never really worked anyway).

I got, the stuff listed above, as well as the occasional reset that the Zune would do, totally shutting down, then restarting after about 30 seconds.

Would prefer the newer hardware updates and ZAlternator to allow me to use a better management app. But the new interface gives up the ability to rate the music which is critical to how I build playlists.

Hope this helps.

In plain english,I absolutely HATE the new software & firmware & wish I never upgraded in the first place. They went & took out my favorite & most used feature which was being able to drag & drop from a FOLDER or even an entire folder and create a playlist. I cant do that & I cant stand trying to make a playlist with this new software they gave us as an "upgrade" because it spreads my music out way too much & marks too many as "Various/Unknown Artist" meanwhile ALL of my music is ID Tagged... So what I need to know is this....Are there any work-arounds for this "issue" Im having? Is it possible to downgrade the firmware to the old version so I can get my favorite & most used feature back? Is there any way to make a Zune Compatable Playlist using any other software??

Thanks,
