Why is vista getting such a bad wrap? if you ask me (and nobody does) those developers/software architechs are just jelous because they cant make an awesome operating system as advanced as vista. the people we should be critisizing is those who purposely make malicious code/viruses and hack. I say let microsoft be free and reign, whose with me? BRING on VISTA.

IMO calling them jealous is just as bad as what they're saying, but I do agree that MS and Vista get a bad wrap. I've always been wary of MS. I've never used their development tools, and I love linux for servers. But you have to admit that XP is one solid, well built OS.
I've realized lately that alot of the bad stuff being said about the MS evil empire is just not fair. That's one of the reasons I bought a Zune. Unfortunately, it's the price you pay for being at the top. The fact of the matter is that there aren't enough Mac users for hackers to bother trying to hack it, and even if they did, there aren't enough users to raise a big enough stink.
I read someone say the other day, "I've been using OSX since beta, and I've never had one virus, not one". To that I say I've been using Windows since windows 95, and I've only had one virus, just one. I think that's pretty good.
Oh yeah, and I'm super psyched about Vista. I really can't wait.

My vote is still out on Vista. I am still tingling a bit from the sting of Microsoft forcing us to install Vista to be able to play Halo 2. But I'm keeping an open mind on the OS in general.
That aside, what really irritates me is the commercials with PC vs Mac where Mac tries to pose as the "fun, hip" machine. Most anyone who already owns a PC knows that's completely bogus and backwards. Most game developers only think about porting PC games to Mac as an afterthought. Same goes for most other software as well.
I just hope people aren't suckered into buying a Mac then realizing they have to use special software that emulates a PC just to be able to do everything a PC does.
If part of you marketing campaign is that you can emulate a system you're claiming to be better than, something is wrong...

Lol, I always that that was a funny selling point. This is funny too. Apple - Get a MacPoint number one, "It just works". Oh, now I'm convinced. Don't get me wrong, Mac's are damn sexy, and I'll probably end up buying one next year, but I think they need to get over themselves.

Eh, not looking too forward to Vista. I like XP at the moment.

i kinda didnt care about the whole apple vs microsoft thing until recently when i read the ridiculous reviews about the zune from people who worship apple. there reasons for not liking the zune were sometime legit, but they pointed out none of the strong points of the zune and none of the bad points of the ipod, and usually one reason within ther review is that microsoft just sucks. i got p.o.ed by that immediately so now i guess u could say i prefer microsoft to apple. my computer is windows, i have a 360, i have a zune, and i admit microsoft has a knack of making things with problems a lot, but no one is perfect and those apple lovers just need to shut the hell up, cuz at the very least i have never seen some one defending microsoft with as stupid reasons as the apple lovers defend the ipod or mac....so go microsoft

Well, i think the main complaint is it resembles osx to closely, no one has really said it was bad. I will get vista later on, but for now xp is fine.

Hmm Zune your tone makes you sound like MS PR. Anyway Vista is quite a good improvement from XP I guess, but not really worth the money spent on upgrade. Ultimate Vista = Ultimate Bloatware.

I'm interested in the Zune because I love all things audio. I am not, however, a big fan of Microsoft. Mainly, I'm a Linux user, on the desktop and the server. Anyone who wants to see some very impressive features and eye candy along the lines that Vista offers should do a Google search for Beryl.
I do have to agree with a few points here, though. Apple is really trying to push the "cool, hip" thing a little too far. I own an iPod, but I won it in a contest, and would never have bought it. I love it, but I don't own a Mac, and probably never will. I don't like the implication that users of PC's are boring, uncool, and, well, just plain dumb, like some of the ads suggest.
