A few things I would do are
1) Reset the Zune
How to restart a Zune deviceThen I would sync. This usually fixes problems like this.
If you continue to have a problem I would escalate one degree to removing ALL content from the Zune:
Erasing Zune ContentDelete all your content on the Zune can be done 1 of two ways, from the software and on the device itself. To get a good thorough delete, I suggest the device method. Here are details on both.
In the Zune Software:Go to
Settings > Device > Sync Options > Erase All Content, this will delete all content
From the Zune Device:Set the Hold switch to unlocked.
Press and hold the Back button Back at the same time as you press the top of the Zune pad.
If you have a Zune 4 GB, Zune 8BG, or Zune 80GB, immediately press and hold the Back button Back at the same time as you press the right side of the Zune pad and the Play/Pause button. Continue to hold these buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following message:
Clearing contents. Please wait.
If you have a Zune 30GB, immediately press and hold the Back button Back at the same time that you press the right side of the Zune pad and the center of the Zune pad. Continue to hold these buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following message:
Clearing contents. Please wait.
When the home screen appears, the erase is complete, and you can again use the Zune device.
And then Sync again.
If you continue to have problems I would contact Zune Support.
