When the new 80 gig Zune was released, I being a microsoft fanatic went out and bought it. A month later some idiot bumped into me and dropped it, causing the screen to crack. It wasn't too deep and I was able to use it for a couple more months, until it dropped again (thanks to me) and was unable to see anything at all...
I knew this wasn't covered by the warranty and found out it cost about $150 to replace the screen through microsoft so I went to my local computer store and dropped it off there for $60.
Four months later, I'm now in college and away from home. My cousin went to pick up the device and he told me they "changed" the casing. Over the cam, it was white and honestly resembled a 30gig zune.
When I got it into my hands I immediately realized it wasn't my zune and checked the gig size and sure enough it was 30gigs.. i sent it back with my cousin and they said "the CPU board just got reprogrammed to 30gig and they are putting it back to 80gigs"
Now, I'm starting to second guess if it was my zune or not, because I hadn't seen any zune in so long...but I never heard of a cpu reformatting to a lower gig...
btw, all the data was erased.
Now, pleaseeee tell me that I'm not wrong and they are trying to screw with me.
And, can you even changed the entire shell of an 80gig?
