Most people aren’t quite sure how to feel about watching videos on their portable devices. The screen is so small that they aren’t sure if there is any enjoyability to be derived from the watching of a missed television show or a beloved movie on a tiny little screen. In terms of the Microsoft Zune, lets review that.

Honestly, on a 3” screen, it’s not the best place to watch a big blockbuster for the first time and expect that you are going to get the entire effect. The movie was made to be watched on a ten foot tall screen, not one 3” big.  So for those kinds of movies, sure it’s not the best.

However, for things you’ve already seen and enjoyed and are familiar with, maybe a portable device is the greatest venue for watching them again. Sometimes you are riding the bus or subway and are bored, and that is where these personal devices excel, alleviating boredom. And if  it is a program you have already seen you will be likely to enjoy it more because you aren’t squinting to figure out what’s going on.

There is an upside though. Even though the screen is very small it is crystal clear. Everything you see will be very small but it will be super sharp and bright which helps a lot. Another great quality of the Zune is that the sound quality is impeccable which makes the experience more pleasant as well.

So in review, maybe a Zune isn’t he place to watch a movie you’ve been awaiting for months. Watching a music video on the bus though or catching up on a TV show you remember from your youth. Why not, enjoy it.
